Terms of Service
Last updated · May 29, 2026
Placeholder. The full Terms of Service will be published here via a managed legal-document service (Termly) before public launch. The provisions below describe the operating reality of the product today and should be treated as binding while in effect.
1. What this service is
Severance.bot is a software tool that reads a PDF severance agreement provided by the user and produces a written summary of terms, including items commonly considered negotiable in the United States. The service is offered “as is” without warranty.
2. Not legal advice
Severance.bot is not a law firm. Nothing produced by the service is legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is created. The service does not represent you in any negotiation. For any decision with material consequence — particularly matters involving discrimination, retaliation, or settlements of significant value — consult a licensed employment attorney in your jurisdiction before signing.
3. Who may use the service
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be a current or former employee of a US-based employer evaluating a US severance agreement.
- You must own the document you upload or be the named recipient of it.
- You may not upload documents that are not severance agreements, not in English, or that contain content not your own.
4. Payments and refunds
Paid analyses ($49) and counter-offer drafts ($99) are one-time purchases processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy. Because the analysis is delivered immediately on purchase, all sales are final once the report is generated. If the analysis pipeline fails to deliver a usable report, contact hello@severance.botfor a refund.
5. Acceptable use
- One upload per 24 hours on the free tier.
- No scraping, automated requests, or attempts to interfere with rate limits.
- No use of the service to harm, harass, or impersonate another person.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Severance.bot, its operators, and its providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of compensation, employment opportunities, or settlement value, arising from use of the service. Total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the prior 12 months.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
